However, after KARA's reunion at the end of 2022, more and more older K-Pop groups began to fan the flames of nostalgia, reunite, and began making music once again. After concluding their contract with Source Music, the iconic third generation girl group decided to focus on their own personal endeavors, whether it was forming another group, starting a new chapter as a soloist, or trying their hand at acting. Although it was saddening to see GFRIEND walking separate paths, BUDDY (GFRIEND's fandom) continued to offer an overwhelming amount of support to their idols.
Now they are back and ready to rock music stages once again. Much like the groups that have reunited before them, GFRIEND have received an enormous and warm reception to their return. While this comeback's success is most certainly tied to the nostalgia around the group, GFRIEND show that they offer much more to warrant the unending support.
