Queer representation in Korea has seen such a large boon, mainly in the form of hit BL series like "Semantic Error", "The Eighth Sense", and "Boys Be Brave". Many can be seen as coming-of-age stories as the characters strive to learn more about themselves, while falling in love in the process. However, they cover many more topics and issues relevant to the queer community such as self-acceptance and companionship. A large number of these dramas are often produced as an adaption to a pre-existing web novel or webtoon which has already accumulated a solid fanbase among the K-BL community.

"Love In The Big City" is one of the most recent adaptions to come out of Korea, erring more on the side of a "queer" work rather than completely BL. Its source material comes from a novel of the same name, which presented a realistic depiction of an openly gay man. "Love In The Big City" has gone above and beyond, coming out with both a movie and drama version which focus on different characters in the story. And although audiences won't be able to watch the movie version for quite some time, the drama adaption is readily available through streaming platforms like TVING and Viki. One name to note from the drama version is Nam YoonSu, creating an explosion of interest towards the series for his portrayal of main character, Go Young.

But why is interest so high and why is everyone talking about Nam YoonSu's casting?
