"The King: Eternal Monarch" is one of the most expected dramas of 2020.

Top Hallyu actor Lee MinHo is back from his armies duties and chose the fantasy sci-fi romance drama "The King: Eternal Monarch" as his first project.

The drama is already catching attention for his main cast. Lee MinHo acted in popular dramas such as “Boys Over Flowers” (2009), “City Hunter” (2011), “The Heirs” (2013), and “The Legend of the Blue Sea” (2016). Kim GoEun is confirmed as the lead actress. She previously acted in dramas such as "Cheese in the Trap" (2016) and "Goblin" (2016). Woo DoHwan ("Tempted" (2018), "My Country" (2019)) also joined the lead cast.

The cast is interesting many but that is not all. PD Baek SangHoon who worked in dramas such as "School 2015" and writer Kim EunSook who worked in popular dramas such as "Mr. Sunshine", “Descendants of the Sun”, "Goblin", "Secret Garden" and "The Heirs" are part of the drama. Kim EunSook and Lee MinHo already worked together in "The Heirs".

The drama was filmed from the second half of 2019.
