“So I Married The Anti-fan” Makes Us Wonder How A K-Pop Idol Can Embrace Their Anti-fans

“So I Married the Anti-fan” is the feel-good webtoon-esque romance that it promised us it would be. The drama stars Choi TaeJoon, Girls’ Generation’s (Choi) SooYoung, 2PM’s ChanSung and Han JiAn -  and straight off-the-bat the character dynamic promises for an entertaining 16 episodes.

On first impression, the show already has us laughing at the cat-and-dog relationship between the leads, WhoJoon played by Choi TaeJoon and Lee GeunYoung played by SooYoung. 

WhoJoon presents himself as the heartthrob K-Pop star and has an adoring international fanbase to prove it. He is at the peak of his career and under pressure to keep it that way. However, there is an undertone to his real personality. He seems almost misunderstood and cold. 

This shows through the interactions between him and 2PM ChangSung’s character JJ (an entertainment mogul). JJ has some resentment towards WhoJoon for being successful in his music career and uses every excuse to get under his skin.
