Second and third generation K-Pop groups are reaching a point where they may mainly focus on their individual careers and even sign on with different companies. However, many have beaten the seven year curse, choosing to remain together in some capacity and make a comeback when their schedules align. SHINee is one of these groups that have remained together, despite some members joining a different agency. They might portray a different artistic color while apart, but when they all stand on stage together, they become the iconic SHINee that fans fondly remember.

This time around, they have returned with a single album, "Poet | Artist". Along with upcoming K-Drama releases for the summer, everyone were waiting with excitement and heartfelt anticipation for the album to release. While on the surface it might look simple in nature, containing just two tracks, however, there is more to the album than meets the eye. What makes "Poet | Artist" so special is the fact that it was released to commemorate SHINee's 17th anniversary — but it doesn't end there. To the delight of many fans, the album also acts as an ode to their late member JongHyun and the eternal bond of brotherhood that they all share. "Poet | Artist" is a mixture of things, but represents SHINee in the best way possible.
