“Shark: The Storm” Plot
“Shark: The Storm” begins with Cha WooSol (played by Kim MinSeok), who starts to dream a new dream after being released from prison. However, his peaceful daily life, filled with hope, is short-lived. Just as Jeong DoHyeon (played by Wi HaJun) feared that “bugs would swarm,” a storm named Hyun WooYong (played by Lee HyunWook) swept over Cha WooSol’s life.
Hyun WooYong finds out that Cha WooSol had defeated Bae SeokChan (played by Jung WonHang) in the past. He is running an illegal fighting league and wants to drag Cha WooSol into it. This marks the beginning of a fierce storm.
When Cha WooSol refuses the offer, Hyun WooYong kidnaps his long-time friend and teacher, Yoon JiHee (played by Jo YoonSeo), and threatens him. As a result, Cha WooSol enters the fighting game designed by Hyun WooYong to protect someone precious to him.
However, Lee WonJoon (played by Bae MyungJin), Han SeongYong (played by Lee JungHyun), and Jeong SangHyeop (played by ParkJin), who had become comrades in life beyond just prison mates, stand by Cha WooSol’s side.
“Shark: The Storm” Cast and Characters
Kim MinSeok as Cha WooSol
Cha WooSol is bullied in "Shark: The Beginning." He stabs his bully in the eye in self-defense, leading to his imprisonment. That is where he learns martial arts from Jeong DoHyeon. In "Shark: The Storm," WooSol is finally let out of prison and tries to start a new life—but is soon pulled back into danger.
Wi HaJun as Jeong DoHye
A former world martial arts champion, he was imprisoned for killing a band of robbers with his bare hands—men who had brutally killed his parents and his sister. He teaches Cha WooSol how to fight, how to survive, and how to protect himself physically and mentally in prison.
Lee HyunWook as Hyun WooYong
Hyun WooYong is a ruthless head of an underground combat league. He is obsessed with power and control, and after learning about Cha WooSol's past victories, he relentlessly pursues him for recruitment. He is manipulative and will do whatever he wants to get what he wants.
Jo YoonSeo as Yoon JiHe
Yoon JiHee is the longtime mentor and former teacher of WooSol. She plays a crucial role in his emotional growth. Her emotional attachment, like a family, pushed WooSol to go into illegal fights.
Bae MyungJin, Lee JungHyun, and Park Jin as Lee WonJoon, Han SeongYong, and Jeong SangHyeop
They are Cha WooSol's closest and most powerful allies. They began as fellow inmates and become a family. They show unwavering support and loyalty when WooSol faced his greatest challenges.
