Spotify, the world’s most popular audio streaming subscription service, has recently released the 2022 Spotify Wrapped, which reveals series of data about how global fans listened this year. This year, Spotify also disclosed data specifically about the K-Pop genre.
With the increasing popularity of the K-Pop genre, the top 10 most-streamed K-Pop artists alone reached more than 16.5 billion streams this year, which entails an increase by 56% and 20%, compared to the same data from 2020 and 2021 Wrapped, respectively. New entries in the top 10 most streamed K-Pop artists are the groups ENHYPEN and (G)I-DLE. BTS, BLACKPINK, TWICE, and Stray Kids have managed to keep their place in the list, from 1st to 4th place. ITZY and Red Velvet are on 8th and 10th spot, respectively. SEVENTEEN, who was on the 7th spot last year, managed to climb up to the 5th spot, and is followed by TXT.
For Spotify's top 10 K-Pop tracks, the chart has been dominated both BTS and BLACKPINK, including their members' individual projects.
