Park BoGum received praise from viewers for his dramatic transformation as a boxing gold medalist–turned–police officer in his new K-Drama “Good Boy,” which premiered on May 31.

“Good Boy” is an action rom-com about former national-team athletes who become police officers through special Olympic recruitment. “Good Boy” Plot Summary (Spoiler-Free)

Yoon DongJu (played by Park BoGum) was involved in a fight while at school and was sent to detention. His mother, already weak from illness, passed away at that time. Howeverm thanks to the consideration of Go ManSik, who handled the case that's why he was released. From then on, he began learning boxing.

With natural talent, he soon became the Oriental champion and an international medalist, but when doping rumors spread, his athletic career faltered, and he joined the police through special recruitment.

Unable to control the anger that rose from his sense of justice, he struck a colleague, was disciplined, and was transferred to Insung City. There, he joins the Violent Crimes Special Unit, where he meets Jin HanNa (played by Kim SoHyun), a former gold medalist in international shooting.
