"No Way Out: The Roulette" Is Yet Another Vigilante K-Drama But Will It Turn Out Different?

KINGKONG by STARSHIP

Is it just me, or is the masked vigilante trope getting a little tired? "No Way Out: The Roulette" was one of the most highly anticipated K-Dramas of the year, and now that it's finally on air, it's just a tad bit underwhelming in concept. Notwithstanding the ever-so-slightly repetitive theme, the drama offers an outstanding plot delivered with perfection by some of the finest gems of the Korean entertainment industry. If you're not someone who constantly seeks novelty, you'll sail through the episodes in a breeze, but if you were hoping for something out of the box, "No Way Out: The Roulette" offers little.

With the release of the first two episodes, "No Way Out: The Roulette" has managed to enter the Disney+ Top 10 chart in only three regions outside South Korea, namely Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore. It's not the best start, but that's not a great indicator of how this show will fare in the long run. After all, with new episodes releasing every week, it's more of a marathon than a sprint. Will this K-Drama ultimately have what it takes to live up to fans' sky-high expectations, especially considering the phenomenal cast? Let's talk about it.

Spoiler Alert!
