Tis the era of Korean webtoons, and boy, is it glorious! SM Entertainment, home to some of the biggest acts in K-Pop, has partnered up with Kakao Entertainment to produce a brand new webtoon based on NCT's lore. The webtoon, called "NCT: Dream Contact", comes just in time for NCT 2023's upcoming comeback with "Golden Age" and is garnering incredible attention among fans worldwide.
"NCT: Dream Contact", the webtoon, is created by seogeul, Hoae Kim, and ZQ, all renowned artists in their own right. The omnibus-style storyline revolves around the concept of dreams and how they connect our characters in the subconscious realm, allowing them to overcome their fears in their waking lives. Just like dreams, music brings them together, creating a conducive environment for growth and communication.
Drawing from the worldview of NCT, "NCT: Dream Contact" emphasizes the power of art and staying true to oneself. Dreams are portrayed as bridges between individuals, times, and emotions, blurring the lines between reality and the dream world. This suggests an exploration of the emotional resonance of dreams, with intimations of vulnerability and profundity.
While the webtoon may or may not be featuring the NCT members themselves, the plot will borrow from NCT's established worldview, with fascinating easter eggs peppered in. Keen-eyed viewers will delight in discovering cherished mementos from NCT's content thus far seamlessly woven into the fabric of the webtoon's world.
