In an era dominated by sensational content, MBC's upcoming family-friendly drama 'I Don't Like Donkatsu' promises a refreshing change with its heartwarming rural setting and endearing characters. The short drama is set to air on July 5th and 6th at 9:50 PM KST.
On July 2nd, a press conference was held at the MBC headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, for the upcoming short drama 'I Don't Like Donkatsu' (written by Noh Ye-ri, directed by Kim Young-jae). The event was attended by actors Jeong SangHun, Jeon HyeBin, Lee JungOk, and director Kim Young-jae.
'I Don't Like Donkatsu' is a comedy that revolves around the castration surgery of a dog named Baekgu in Onghwa Village and how the village chief, Jeong Ja-wang, finds himself in a similar predicament after a vasectomy. The drama won the top prize in the short drama category at the 2023 MBC Drama Script Contest.
Director Kim Young-jae compared the work to 'Malatang-Hulu' (a mixture of malatang and tanghulu), stating, "The subject matter, including vasectomies and circumcisions, might seem provocative, but the drama is touching and sweet." He added, "I couldn't waste such a good script. Working with better-than-expected actors an
