BABYMONSTER is a 7-member girl group, currently active with 6 members, under YG Entertainment. The members are Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita. 2 members in the lineup, Asa and Ruka are Japanese, and 2 other members, Pharita and Chiquita are Thai. The rest are Korean members.
Industry experts and fans in the know have been aware of such a group being in the works since 2018 when YG Entertainment started accepting new trainees. Each prospective member of this new YG girl group was selected through intense competition, where they belonged to the top 0.1% of applicants.
