The K-Pop industry has become a diverse field of idols from various different backgrounds. It is slowly becoming a melting pot of talent where anyone can pursue their dreams and stand on stage with the right amount of hard work and perseverance. K-Pop is an endless pool of talent that has no end in sight.
Now, more than ever, the doors to become an idol have opened up to individuals outside of Korea, too. There are many singers across multiple groups that have traveled from their home country to Korea to train and eventually debut as an artist. While the United States and Asia are most likely the places where a K-Pop idol has previously resided, some hail from the beautiful European region.
Here are but some K-Pop idols who have previously resided in Europe!
1. CL

CL took the world by storm as a member of the legendary girl group 2NE1. Her legacy continues until this day as she promotes as a successful soloist. But prior to her debut as an idol, due to her parent's work, she traveled across various countries. She's resided in Paris, Tsukuba, and Tokyo. Naturally, her experiences outside of Korea helped to mold her into the stunning icon that stands on stage today.

YangYang is an outstanding performer. Whether it's for his mesmerizing vocals or captivating dance moves, the idol impresses every single time. Although he's made a name for himself as a K-Pop idol, he was based outside of Korea pre-debut. He previously resided in Germany with his mother and sister. Thanks to his time spent there, YangYang possesses a masterful control of the German language.
3. MONSTA X's HyungWon

Ever since pre-debut, HyungWon has impressed fans with his handsome visuals, overflowing talent, and heartwarming personality. He is a true shining light for many, worthy to be called an idol. Although he was mainly raised in Korea, he did spend a short amount of time abroad. Along with his family, HyungWon lived in Germany for just a three month period.
4. SF9's DaWon

The SF9 member is not only limited to life as an idol, but DaWon is slowly and surely making his mark as an actor too. He's worked extremely hard to get to where he is, gaining countless cheers of love and admiration from fans all across the globe. But prior to becoming a celebrity, DaWon had a simple life and even had the chance to live abroad! He lived and studied in Spain for 4 months. Although it's not a terribly long time, DaWon was able to pick up some Spanish words and phrases that he uses to communicate with fans.
5. DRIPPIN's Alex

Despite being the maknae of the Woollim Entertainment idol group, Alex is a talented performer and always seems to impress whenever he steps onto the stage. While he's immersed himself in the life of an idol, he's gained experience elsewhere. He half-German half-Korean idol was born in Germany and while residing there he was an amateur ski athlete. Although he showed promise, he set down the path towards the entertainment industry.
