World film connoisseurs, we have some fantastic news! The Indian blockbuster film franchise "Drishyam" is getting a Korean remake, helmed jointly by India’s Panorama Studios and South Korea’s Anthology Studios.
For those who might not know, "Drishyam" is a highly successful and award-winning Malayalam film series written and directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring actors Mohanlal and Meena in the leading roles. It is a riveting crime thriller that has not only enjoyed commercial success but also high critical acclaim.
At the time of writing, "Drishyam" has already been remade in several languages both in and out of India. This includes "Drishya" (2014) and "Drishya 2" (2021) in Kannada, "Drushyam" (2014) and "Drushyam 2" (2021) in Telugu, "Papanasam" (2015) in Tamil, "Drishyam" (2015), and "Drishyam 2" (2022) in Hindi, "Dharmayuddhaya" (2017) in Sinhala and "Sheep Without a Shepherd" (2019) in Chinese. An Indonesian remake has also been announced, and a third installation for the Hindi version is in the works. Notably, the Hindi remake, starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran, is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films in recent times.
