“IDOL: The Coup” is a drama that will depict the failures of young people who run towards their dreams without any regrets against the backdrop of an agency called “Star Peace.”
The leads in the drama are EXID’s Hani, Kwak SiYang, and Kim MinKyu.
Hani (Ahn HeeYeon) most recently appeared in the dramas “You Raise Me Up”, “SF8” and “Not Yet Thirty.”
Actor Kwak SiYang has acted in the dramas “Lovers Of The Red Sky”, “Genesis”, “Alice”, and “Welcome 2 Life.”
Former "Produce X 101" contestant, Kim MinKyu, most recently starred in the web drama “Pop Out Boy!” and will be taking on his second leading role in this drama.
The idol-filled cast also includes members of the fictional girl group, Cotton Candy. The members are LABOUM’s SolBin (“Backstreet Rookie”, “Soul Plate”), WJSN’s Exy (“The Flatterer”), REDSQUARE’s Green (“Love #Hashtag”), and actress Han SoEun (“The Witch’s Diner”, “18 Again”, “Mystic Pop-Up Bar”, “Class Of Lies”).
The members of the fictional boy group, Mars, include idols Hong EunKi (“Some Air”), former X1 member and current solo artist, Lee EunSang ( upcoming drama “Part-Time Melo”), and actors Jo JoonYoung (Cho JunYoung) (“Live On”, “Dear. M”) and Baek SeoHoo (“Color Rush”).
A production member said, “They are full of personality and charm, but they foretell a feast of characters with their own concerns and stories, and I am already looking forward to the first broadcast of what kind of message the drama will contain.”
