Ever since the first survival competition program, the K-Pop industry has been forever changed. As a result, the project groups these shows created became some of the hottest acts within the industry. One of the main downsides, however, was the fact that they would only remain active for a limited amount of time before returning back to their original companies and starting anew, either as a soloist or with another group.
There have been permanent groups such as fromis_9 and ENHYPEN, but they are some of the rare exceptions. So as summer approached, everyone was certain that Kep1er, who was formed through Mnet's "Girl's Planet 999", was bound to go their separate ways. However, by some miraculous turn of events, they'll make history as a project group who'll extend their time together, albeit as 7 instead of 9. And as they've made a comeback with their first full-length album, it takes on a new meaning for the group, as well as the fans who've stayed by their side and supported them.
Kep1er's "Kep1going On" is very much an ode to their journey thus far and a positive look towards the future ahead of them.
