With the globalization of K-Dramas, series have started to pop up on international streaming giants like Netflix and Disney+. This has changed the landscape of the industry immensely, giving room for actors to explore various options outside of the typical SBS, KBS, and tvN dramas.
We’ve seen many new talents rise up and cause a stir on an international scale, allowing many more people to fall for them. One budding actor to take note of is Choi MinYoung.
Although he’s spent close to 10 years in the industry, he first started off during his adolescence in smaller roles or as the younger version of specific characters. He recently made his American debut with the Netflix series “XO, Kitty”, which has dominated the internet since its release.
Choi MinYoung was born on October 9, 2002 in Seoul, South Korea. He is signed to Saram Entertainment, which is home to stars like Uhm JungHwa, Park GyuYoung, Byun YoHan, and Jung HoYeon.
Before he entered the acting world, he made his debut with the musical, “Bonnie & Clyde” in 2013. He then began to earn roles in dramas like SBS’ “Entertainer”, JTBC’s “Strong Woman Do BongSoon”, and tvN’s “Mr. Sunshine”.
In terms of K-Dramas, many might recognize MinYoung as the little brother of Baek YiJin (played by Nam JooHyuk), Baek YiHyun, from hit series “Twenty-Five, Twenty-One”.
While he has been crushing it in the world of acting, he has a deep history as a musical star. With his immaculate voice, he was able to win first place in The 6th DIMF Musical Star.

Choi MinYoung recently opened up his very own personal Instagram in February. You can follow him @choi_minyeong.
