On July 6, 2021, ENHYPEN made their high-awaited Japanese debut with their EP "BORDER: Hakanai". ENHYPEN found praise and success in Japan even before their official debut there so expectations were high on how ENHYPEN was going to make their official initiation into the Japanese music industry and commercial market. However, as it turns out, ENHYPEN passed with flying colours, making a lasting impression with their creativity, talent and artistic genius with this EP.
Concept
BELIFT Lab
ENHYPEN's concept for "BORDER: Hakanai" leans more towards a gentle and scholarly side. The members are shown as being keen yet calm and the schoolboy visual theme adds to the concept. Perhaps this feeds into the concept of the ideal man, who is beautiful and artistic yet sharp and perceptive at the same.
Two sets of concept photos were released, both in a group format and an individual format. The first set (pictured on the top left and right) shows the members in all white, serene and peaceful. They're outside, with the sun peaking through the white curtain and there is a sense of stillness in the air. However, it also seems momentary.
