ATEEZ is doing it for the culture.
It's been almost a week since ATEEZ dropped their latest album, "GOLDEN HOUR: Part.1." I have now listened to it at least nine times, basked in its glory, taken it all in, and I'm finally ready to talk about it.
"GOLDEN HOUR : Part.1" is a play in two acts. One is an ode to ATEEZ's global success, an eclectic blend of genres and cultural influences from around the world reinvented to reflect ATEEZ's signature sonic aesthetic. The second is the ATEEZ we know and love - raw, unabashed, and anthemic, sticking to their authentic roots. Songs that belong to the former are 'Blind', 'Work', and 'Shaboom', whereas the latter includes 'Empty Box' and 'Siren'.
The prologue to the album 'Golden Hour' immediately struck me as a call back to one of the most dazzling moments in ATEEZ's career so far, Coachella 2024, and yet, ATEEZ seem to be emphasizing that rather than glorifying it like the spark of a firework, they want to bathe in the afterglow, reminisce all the hard work that it took to get there and find true happiness in the journey, rather than the destination.
