10 K-Pop Idols From The Same Island: Jeju Island

K-Pop idols head to the city streets of Seoul in order to pursue their dreams and eventually stand on stage in front of hundreds of fans. While much of their training is done in the capital city, they come from various regions and cities, making the pool of idols wide and diverse. There's stars from Gwangju, Busan, and Jeju Island.

While Jeju is famous for its stunning scenery and tropical vibes, it is considered the hometown to a wide number of idols. Despite moving away to the city, they talk about Jeju fondly and with heaps of affection. They take pride that they were able to grow up in beautiful environment such as Jeju, sharing anecdotes and fun stories all throughout their career.

Now, let's take a look at these idols from the beautiful Jeju Island.

1. SoYou 

SoYou was born on Jeju Island and remained there until she was 9-years-old. The idol often shared her childhood memories through various TV programs, providing an insight on what it's like to be a Jeju native.

2. Kang MiNa

While Kang MiNa was born elsewhere, she considers Jeju her hometown. She lived on the island since she was 8-years-old until she went off to pursue her dreams of  becoming an idol. After debut, she even used her Jeju dialect, or satoori, on numerous programs, proof of her upbringing there.

3. iKON's Jay

Jay is an absolutely talented vocalist with a stage presence that stirs the hearts of all those around him. He is also one of the K-Pop idols who come from Jeju Island. On a TV program, he even visited his own home with the rest of his members, showing everyone the place where he grew up.

4. THE BOYZ' Ju HakNyeon

While participating on Mnet's "Produce 101 Season 2", through his introduction video, Ju HakNyeon was referred to as the "refreshing Jeju boy". He then proceeded to proudly introduce himself as someone from Jeju Island. Even then he took pride in his hometown and continues to do so today.

5. BaekHo

BaekHo is known for his melodic vocals and jaw-dropping physique. He often recounted his childhood memories of his hometown and was seen going back multiple times through personal vlogs and television programs.

6. WJSN's DaYoung

DaYoung is a multitalented idol, being able to perform at a high level while also making fans laugh with her innate humor. Before making her official debut, however, she was a simple resident of Jeju Island. On television programs, DaYoung even demonstrated her Jeju dialect, amazing viewers and cast alike.

7. A.C.E's Kang YuChan

Kang YuChan is another K-Pop idol who comes from the beautiful island of Jeju. Despite being pursuing his dreams as an idol, he never forgets his roots and the amazing hometown where he grew up.

8. OH MY GIRL's Mimi

Not only is Mimi a talented rapper, she has also become a well-loved celebrity within the variety community. She's able to make viewers laugh for hours on end. Although she's making a living in the city, she takes pride in being from Jeju Island.

9. IVE's LIZ

IVE has only seen an upward trajectory since their debut, already leaving a large impact on the K-Pop scene. LIZ has solidified herself as an incredible vocalist, able to hit high notes with apparent ease. She is another idol who comes from the scenic Jeju Island, even sharing stories of her time living there on various TV shows.

10. SEVENTEEN's SeungKwan

SeungKwan's last name 'Boo' is a family name that originated from Jeju Island. He has shown an undying love for his hometown on numerous TV programs. He is even gifted tangerine related presents from fans due to his Jeju origins.
