One of the most highly anticipated series has just joined the current lineup of K-Dramas, and that is none other than "Love Next Door". Leading up to its premiere, many eyes were looking its way due to the impressive lineup of Jung SoMin, Jung HaeIn, Kim JiEun, and Yun JiOn, among many others. In particular, due to Jung SoMin and Jung HaeIn's track record of multiple award-winning performances and string of K-Drama hits, expectations grew sky high. And it appears those expectations were for good reason, as the tvN drama reached approximately 6% ratings on its premiere weekend. It also entered Netflix's Global Top 10 TV Shows (Non-English). With such a successful start, many have shown immense excitement for future episodes of "Love Next Door".

The premise is simple enough as the story follows childhood friends, Choi SeungHyo (Jung HaeIn) and Bae SeokRyu (Jung SoMin). Due to their mothers' close friendship, they naturally grew up together, seeing each other change from innocent children to hard-working adults. While it appeared as if Bae SeokRyu's life was smooth sailing, she suddenly returns from America, jobless and with a broken engagement. Both SeungHyo and SeokRyu look to each other for support and unknowingly, feelings of romance start to blossom.

At its core, "Love Next Door" is a feel good rom-com that many K-Drama enthusiasts will wholeheartedly enjoy. There are certainly elements that feel oddly familiar, as if you're seeing it for the umpteenth time, however, it's this compilation of tried and true tropes that make "Love Next Door" an incredible delight.
