A popular term in Korean media, "ro-fan" (로판), short for romance fantasy is emerging as the fan-favorite genre with two top K-Dramas competing in the ratings race this January. January 2024 K-Drama, "Marry My Husband", starring Park MinYoung, Na InWoo, Lee YiKyung, and Song HaYoon, premiered on New Year's Day to extraordinary ratings. The first episode of this romance fantasy K-Drama recorded 5.2%, which increased to 5.9% with the second episode. The K-Drama tells the story of a young woman suffering from terminal illness who is murdered by her cheating husband and his mistress/her best friend. Thanks to a twist of fate, she gets a chance to turn her life around when she goes back in time to ten years ago.
The queen of rom-coms, Park MinYoung is back on our screens, doing what she does best. Her effortlessly endearing and charming performance as Kang JiWon brings depth and authenticity to this romance fantasy K-Drama, drawing the audience in at once. High praise is also due to Song
