On Oct. 11, JYP Entertainment boy band Xdinary Heroes made a comeback with their 4th mini album, “Livelock”, and their title track, ‘Break the Brake’. Fans waited eagerly for a whole new set of songs to headbang or sway along to and they were not disappointed with the quality of music they were presented with.
Xdinary Heroes are known for their powerful rock songs that energise fans and deliver messages relevant to Gen Z. “Livelock” has seven tracks, most of which centre around common themes of determination, self assurance, confidence and liberation. These themes are explored with a consistently positive, strong and rebellious attitude that perfectly captures the band’s strong rock sound and reputation as Gen Z’s representative band.
1. ‘Freddy’
“Oh, if you think you got away
That’s just your delusion, there's no way
It's time to break the dream, No matter how much you shake me
Even if you hide in a nightmare, I'm coming for you”
These lyrics in the second verse of ‘Freddy’ are about a deep sense of determination to catch Freddy. It expresses no willingness to give up and with lyrics like ‘Even if you hide in a nightmare, I'm coming for you’
