Exclusive Review: Rolling Quartz Has Its Fans 'Holler' In New York City’s Iconic Mercury Lounge

Rolling Quartz, a five member, all female Korean rock group, recently visited New York City and held two near capacity concerts at the Mercury Lounge on the Lower East Side. Supported by Fake Star USA, the group’s multi stop Rock ‘N’ Roll Paradise tour has been sold out for months.

Despite debuting during the pandemic in late 2020, the group leveraged live concerts on YouTube to launch its success overseas. After a performance domestically, interest in the band grew after they performed at Otakon 2022 in a joint concert with PIXY and AleXa.

Consisting of bassist Arem, guitarist Iree, drummer YeongEun, vocalist JaYoung, and rhythm guitarist Choi HyunJung, the band is known for a hard rock sound with powerful, raspy vocals. They have released a series of powerful originals ('Blaze' and 'Delight') as well as popular covers of other artists (BTS' 'Dynamite', Maya's 'Azalea' and DREAMCATCHER's 'Good Night').
