"The Heavenly Idol" is the latest hip fantasy-idol hybrid drama grabbing the attention of K-Drama lovers the world over. Starring Kim MinGue, Go BoGyeol, Lee JangWoo, Tak JaeHoon, Choi JaeHyun, Shin KyuHyun (ENOi's Laon), Hong SeungBum, Shin MyungSung, and more, it makes creative use of the best elements of each genre to create a holistically entertaining viewing experience. Based on a webtoon, K-Drama viewers have become curious about the differences between the "Heavenly Idol" K-Drama and webtoon.
"The Heavenly Idol" tells the story of a powerfully divine high priest (named Rembrary) from another realm whose body gets switched with a K-Pop idol named Woo YeonWoo. Their bodies get switched in the midst of a battle against the devil. However, there is only one way to defeat this devil from this new world...
Woo YeonWoo is a member of a failed boy group called Wild Animal. They have been active for 5 years and yet get no attention even when they make a comeback. The group has very few fans. Not only does Rembrary have to adjust to his new identity, but he also has to adjust to the idol world and find a way to thrive within it; even if that means compromising his values.

Although the webtoon and K-Drama are not exactly the same, none of the differences drastically change the story. However, you might find some of the differences interesting.
