In K-Pop, every group has an introduction to be recognizable by everyone. This way, even if some are not part of the fandom, they can know who is the group, and maybe search into them if they like the group they see. Those introductions often include a little hand gesture and a slogan. But if it is so easy to recognize a group, it is less easy to recognize fans from the same fandom.
When becoming a K-Pop stan, the first thing you want to do is usually find people who enjoy the same artists as you do.
